Future Events

The Firework Career Coaching Programme was developed by coaches for coaches. Kate Edmonds, PCC and Marianne Craig, MCC found they needed a clear structured process to help clients wanting to create or discover their new career. So in 2002 they set about creating it. After a year of development and testing, they’d created a programme which provides the coach with everything necessary to coach a client to find the work which fits with their values and their strengths.

The programme is based on a simple premise: that those who are most satisfied and motivated by their work are in careers which reflect who they really are, their true nature, their real passions, their innate strengths. However, self-knowledge alone is not enough. Something more is needed to help clients create exciting, appropriate and realistic career possibilities and turn them into a plan of action that works in the real world.

The Firework programme provides you with all the tools you need to take a client from having no idea what is their right work, to having total clarity about their new career direction and the motivation to make it happen. The great thing about the programme is that it combines your coaching skills with a tried and tested toolkit and innovative process.

The programme is in three phases: the first phase is a deep exploration into self-awareness. This is needed as a foundation and as raw material for the second, highly creative phase. During this second phase, using the innovative Firework technology, the client generates a host of possible ideas for new careers. Even the most unimaginative clients can respond to the Firework process. In the third and final phase, the client focuses on the most compelling of the many possibilities and turns an exciting vision into an inspiring real-world action plan. Clients find the process hugely rewarding and enjoyable.

Our intensive one-day training will familiarise you with the Firework programme – it's a highly experiential day – by the end, you’ll have experienced all aspects of the programme and leave feeling confident to start using the programme with your clients. The June event will be led again by experienced facilitators and Firework Associates Michelle Bayley and Sue Powell, who between them have seven years experience using the Firework Programme.

And you’ll receive a fully-detailed career coach’s manual, giving you step by step guidance on every aspect of the programme. There’s a CD containing  briefing notes ready to email to your clients on every assignment and exercise, plus some innovative "structures" for capturing the work they do as they proceed. The programme conveys a high degree of professionalism, which will be reflected in your confidence as a coach using the framework and materials.

The Firework programme is a framework, yet it can also be used as a treasure chest of tools and techniques with both career clients and life coaching clients. Some coaches and some clients prefer a more unstructured approach – the programme works well for them too.

Using the Firework programme, you can develop a niche which is growing in the current economic climate. Clients are willing to invest in coaching to find a new career, as such a large part of their lives is spent at work. And an unfulfilling career or redundancy can be soul-destroying. Think how rewarding it is to help a client discover a more meaningful and purposeful career!

The next Firework Training Day will take place on Tuesday 15th November 2011 at the beautiful Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park, Richmond, Surrey TW10 5HX from 9.30am to 5.30pm. To become a Firework Career Coach you must produce a recognised coaching or career counselling qualification or evidence of coaching experience.

Your investment

Early booking rate is £695. The price includes all programme materials, the lifelong Firework licence and a hot buffet lunch on the day.  £100 deposit will secure your place (payable by cheque, bank transfer or by credit card via Paypal for a fee of 3.4%) this must be paid by the 10th October 2011. From 10th October the full rate of £795 will apply and must be paid in full.
