I work with professionals in their 30s, 40s and 50s to reinvent their careers into something they love.
When clients come to me, they say things like "I'm successful at what I do, but it's never really felt like 'me', or "I've always felt like a bit of an 'imposter' at work, and I'm worn out." I also work with women with young families who say "I'm ready for something for me again." They are ready for a change, after having taken a career break to focus on family. However, the career they had before having a family is no longer a good fit for their lives.
I specialise in working with women in their thirties and forties who are at a career crossroads and are considering a career shift. My 12 week coaching programme is ideal for those who want to change career but have no idea - or too many ideas - about what they want to do instead. I help them find and move into work that's more fulfilling for them.
I use the GROW model and my style is straight forward and to the point. I use a background questionnaire right at the start to set the scene and we can then agree on the key areas to focus on. I use models to facilitate our conversations, and the tools from Firework.
I am a career coach working predominantly with mid-career women who want to find ways to work well and live well.
- Career transition and career development
- Resilience and wellness

Maria’s work experience gives her a deep appreciation of inter-cultural diversity, as well as powerful insights into what drives professionals to deliver their highest and best outcomes.
Maria is passionate about working with individuals who wish to thrive in this increasingly complex world. One of her core beliefs is that success – however it is defined – is achievable and sustainable as long as ‘we don’t let life get in the way of living’.
Focused on professional and personal development, Maria is continuously developing new perspectives for sharing within her network. Currently her top passions are: the awesome potential of the mind, neuroscience, emotional and social intelligence, mindfulness, health and well-being.
I work predominantly with women who are looking to launch themselves into a new career, often after a period of time at home. I help them define what they want from their work and life going forward and support them in creating detailed plans about how to achieve their objectives. I am passionate about helping believe that it is possible to have a new career at any phase of their life.
I also work with clients in demanding, sometimes new role roles who are seeking success and confidence at work, whilst balancing their life outside work.
I have a warm, supportive and non-judgemental approach. I help clients keep alive what it is that they dream of for themselves and encourage them to 'play big'. Clients say that I am insightful, a good listener, empathetic and encouraging.
As a career and personal development coach I help mid-career professionals to create the working life they really want.
Both my personal and working life experience – including 20 years professional experience as architect (employed & self employed) in 3 different countries and transition to professional coaching at mid-career – provide me with a great understanding of the challenges that mid-career professionals face and allow me to bring empathy, perspective and practical insights to my coaching when supporting my clients on their own journeys of exploring career options and possible transitions.
My coaching style is warm, facilitative, reflective and goal orientated.
My clients say:
“Britta's coaching style is gentle yet firm and she has exceptional reflective listening skills which made me feel safe and supported.”
“Britta is very calm and an excellent listener. Her reflections helped me to move my project along and leave me feeling like progress was being lead by me.”
I enjoy coaching those who are looking for a new direction and this could include those who are returning to work after a career break. I also have a particular interest in diversity. My background is predominately within the education industry having worked in schools, colleges and universities.
My coaching style is motivational based. It inspires me to help clients work within a growth mindset perspective to enable individuals to reach their ultimate goal. I tend to be fairly structured in my approach and like to keep the client informed of the progress they are making.
I specialise in coaching young people post-university and mature career changers looking to make end of career decisions. I coach both one-to-one and in groups.
I have a down-to-earth, common sense approach to coaching. I use a strengths based approach to helping clients facilitate their journey of self discovery, and help clients to be open minded and practical when facing the choices in front of them.

I have all types of clients from all kinds of professions and this makes it very rich and interesting for me.
In my previous life I have been an entrepreneur with a company specialised in the organisation of international scientific conferences and meetings. This means I have experience with this sector. Having been a business owner for 20 years now, I'm also well placed to coach people who envisage to start their own business or work for themselves.
Clients tell me I have soft power, I'm a warm, honest and open, combined with an edge of seriousness when needed and absolute determination and focus. I'm often complimented for my energy and commitment. See the section 'praise' on my website for testimonials http://momentum-coaching.eu/en/praise/
I have a blog/newsletter which appears every 2 weeks on Thursday. It can be found on my website under 'Inspiration'
